Beating pre-uni nerves

Hello, this is Sam here. Here are a few tips and some advice if you're feeling nervous before university. So sometimes in life you may have been told fake it to make it especially in retail, the retail smile if you know what I mean, but here at BCU we value everyone's identities and what they stand for and like their personality like to work. So compared to like college or like secondary school, you may have been such a like goody two shoes but at university you can not only be a more elevated version of yourself, you can be this person that you don't even recognise at college or secondary school. I used to be such a goody two shoes it was unbearable. But at university I'm more mature, authentic person, like I'm more expressive in like how I come across and in terms of a personality and like what I stand for, it's giving me the confidence to actually project and be myself. Sometimes just owning your awkwardness, really pulls through and it puts people's guards down, it makes them realise like, okay, we're all human and like we can be relatable in that sense, like it's a new situation, we're all feeling the same feelings, but it makes people like, it makes people drawn to you. It baffles me cleaning especially like certain settings on like the washing machine and stuff like that. It completely confuses me. But not to fear as your parents, guardians are always just text message away if you need any help. And I'm sure people around you are willing to help you as well. You're going to be gaining independence, you're going to be learning a lot about the essential basic skills that you will need, like your cooking, cleaning, like stuff like that. But not to fear. As for me personally, I follow a few food accounts on Instagram, they always give off such amazing hacks and recipes that like so simple and easy to try. Watching these videos, and this channel is a great way to familiarise yourself with like student life and like how we feel about BCU and stuff like that. But for me personally, BCU has been really good to me like I've never felt out of place or like in over my head at BCU. It's quite an amazing place to be. Because everyone at BCU is just incredibly inviting and welcoming and warming. And they would, quite frankly, do the best to help you out.
