Gurdial Singh

Gurdial joined the School of Architecture, Built Environment, Computing and Engineering at BCU as a Senior Technician, having over 25 years of knowledge and experience in consumer electronics with Sony, Dixons stores group, John Lewis, Comet Electricals and Argos.

He runs and maintains electronic laboratories and manages an inventory full of electronic components and test equipment. Also providing technical advice, mentoring and assistance to students and academic colleagues.

Gurdial has been awarded with:

• Innovation Fest Technician of the year 2024
• Part of the I Am BCU Team of the year 2023/4
• BCU Mentor of the year 2023

Gurdial teaches on technician led electronic practical lab experiments and participates in the mechanical engineering labs.

Gurdial is the lead for The Repair Lab where you can bring your faulty household electronic gadgets for repair, where you as a student and as BCU staff will be able to learn how to disassemble/reassemble, learn how the product works whilst attempting to carry out a repair and saving the environment. Currently Gurdial is taking The Repair Lab to the community and local schools.
