In November 2025 the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire will celebrate the musical career of Michael Gibbs, one of the greatest composers and arrangers to have worked in the field of jazz, pop, TV and film.
For more than six decades, Gibbs has been inspiring musicians and audiences through his collaborations with artists such as Joni Mitchell, Bill Frisell, Gary Burton, and John McLaughlin, and he continues to influence new generations of young musicians through his 25-year connection with Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the exciting recent donation of his archive.
