Rapture looks at a group of close-knit friends, whose cynicism appears to answer all questions and who navigate uncertainty with ease. What could possibly shock or unsettle their comfortable, middle-class lives? When two of their number question the group’s morals, the consequences are profound. Long-term friendships are pushed to the limit as the faithless wrestle with the affront of moral judgement. Ethics and certainties are tested in Joanna Murray-Smith’s visceral, provocative play.
