Wondering what the next steps are after your child has accepted their Clearing offer? We cover it all, from accommodation to finance.
Apply for accommodation
If your child has chosen to move away from home, now is the time to get university accommodation sorted. To apply for a place, your child must have accepted an offer on a full-time course with us.
How to apply for accommodation:
Step 1: Using your University Applicant number register in the Accommodation Portal. Please note that once you hold a firmly accepted unconditional offer, it may take up to two days before our accommodation system recognises the change to your offer status allowing you to apply online.
Step 2: Apply for accommodation using the Clearing/Insurance Accommodation Application.
Step 3: Upon completion, an offer of accommodation will be emailed to the email address you gave in the application.
Step 4: You will then be given 3 days (UK applicants) and 5 days (EU/International applicants) to accept the offer. A guarantor will be required for the majority of the accommodation. You will also be required to make an advance payment to accept the offer of accommodation by a deadline date.

Sort out student finance
Haven’t applied for student finance yet? Your child needs to apply right away
Student Finance England will try to make sure your child gets some of their student finance money into their account as close as possible to the start of term, but the sooner you apply the better.
Has your child already applied but their course, university or college has changed due to Clearing?
They'll need to inform Student Finance England. Full-time students can do this by logging into their student finance account. Part-time and postgraduate students need to send a form to Student Finance England.
Finance and enrolment
Your child will be expected to make/arrange fee payment at enrolment. If they cannot provide evidence of their student funding or application for funding it will not stop them from being enrolled, but they will be responsible for payment of fees and will be required to make payment in accordance with the University’s Fee Payment Policy.
